Below you will find a brief description of the university systems and the respective schools that participate in this program and the type of courses that you have at your disposal.

SiPN encourages you to pay special attention to SiPN´s core curriculum (highly reccomended) – 4 courses in humanities/soc sciences + 4 in Business every semester – that are offered each semester, in each of the partner schools.

We at SiPN believe you will encounter many interesting courses and possibilities, flexibility is assured.

Students are not required to make a decision on their preference when they start their application process with SiPN, this indication will be provided during the application process.

Explicação do que são estes cursos

The core curriculum is designed for students who want to assure that their semester is a stress-free as possible. The faculty of the core curriculum are published experts with Ph. Ds in their respective fields, hand-chosen by the academic council of SiPN to teach in our program. Many of them have previously taught or done graduate work in North America or other English-speaking regions. Our core classes also enroll Erasmus and local Portuguese students, for truly international classroom experience, taught in English.

All of SiPN´s partner universities have direct enrollment courses, the courses listed on the catalogues are offered in english, these lists are separated by Fall or Spring accordingly. See full course catalogues below.

Each semester SiPN provides all levels of Portuguese language courses (A1 – C2) for whichever level you test into.

However, all SiPN partner universities offer their own Portuguese Language classes based on the same European A1-C2 levels, and syllabi for these are available upon request.

SiPN also offers semesterly intensive classes of Portuguese for foreigners. These are typically worth 12 ECTS (2 semesters worth of credit), but academic calendars and contact hours for these options vary. For more information on intensive options, contact SiPN.

Other Languages Courses

German, Arabic, Catalan, Chinese, Spanish, French, Greek, Hindi, Latin, Italian, Japanese, Suaíli, Bulgarian, Czech, Slovenian, Persian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Turkish.

For those who are looking for other choices taught in Portuguese, the SiPN universities provide hundreds of direct-enroll classes each semester in social sciences, business economics, and in many other fields, all of which are taught in Portuguese and open to participants of SiPN. These lists are provided individually to students who contact our office.
