SiPN’s Advanced Liberal Arts Program in Lisbon (ALAL) aims to enhance undergraduate liberal arts education by providing students with immersive Portuguese language instruction at the advanced level, community-based service learning, and critical reflection in Portugal.

ALAL is a community-engaged experiential learning program that:

– Offers opportunities for students to develop research skills and knowledge in contemporary global contexts through Internships and Research Assistant Opportunities.

– Equips students with a base of knowledge about Portugal’s complex and relevant political, economic, and cultural landscape.

This semester program allows students to choose up to 5 courses taught in Portuguese from  within the  following majors and minors:

  • Art Studies
  • Classical Studies
  • English Studies
  • North American Studies

  • Romance Studies

Some classes within these tracks will also be offered in English. For an up-to-date list of which, contact us.
