SiPN is now partnering with the U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to award Gilman Scholarships to SiPN students!
Since 2001, the Gilman Scholarship has enabled students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, thereby gaining skills critical to their future success and U.S. national security. The program has provided over 31,000 undergraduate students with the opportunity to go abroad, funding approximately 3,600 scholars annually to travel to more than 150 countries.
“The Gilman Scholarship Program is proud to partner with the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) and its Study in Portugal Network in establishing the Gilman-FLAD Portugal Scholarship, a highly selective award for underrepresented U.S. students to study in Portugal through the Study in Portugal Network (SiPN). Students also have the opportunity to study Portuguese, a critical need language. This partnership builds cooperation between Portugal and the United States and promotes Portugal as a destination for learning.”
Gilman/SiPN awardees will receive $5,000 awards (that can go up to $8,000 if including Portuguese language component – a critical language) to pursue credit-bearing academic studies or internships through SiPN.
Interested students should start their SiPN application, and Gilman´s simoultaneously.
