We’re so excited you are interested in studying abroad with SiPN! Get your application started by filling out the form linked below and we will guide you from there!

Submit your Pre-Application:

The first step is filling out our Pre-Application. The Pre-Application phase is where you will provide some basic information about yourself and your interest in one of our programs.

Note: If you currently do not have a valid passport, you should apply for one immediately after hearing back from us regarding your Pre-Application. It must be valid for at least six months after your program of interest ends.

 

Spring 26 applications are now closed.

Summer 26 applications will open Nov 1st. 

Fall 26 applications will open Dec 1st.

Complete the SiPN Full Application Package

After your Pre-Application has been reviewed and validated, SiPN Office will send you a PDF with all you need to know for all the steps of your application: 

  1. Submitting your program deposit: $350 if you are a semester applicant OR $200 if you are a summer applicant. 
  2. Complete SiPN Application materials. This step requires you to submit several documents, such as copies of your student transcripts, a credit transfer pre-approval sheet, copies of your passport, a passport-style photo, Health and Special Needs info, Proof of Financial Aid, and more. 
  3. Start your VISA Process (only applicable for semester students) – Complete our VISA Google form. This step requires you to submit the following documents:
    1. Proof of VISA appointment at your respective consulate OR Proof of ordering Labels through VFS
    2. Proof of requesting an FBI background check
  4. Submit your application to SiPN/FLAD Scholarships (optional but highly recommended – learn more info here).

Finding Her in Heritage

Growing up with immigrant parents I guess you could say that I had a different upbringing compared to most of my peers. Of course, there were times when cultures would clash leaving me stuck between my Portuguese and American identities, but over time I learned to embrace the best of two worlds. Across Four Continents

Long story short, I received a scholarship for my study abroad but with the condition that I study in Bahia, Brazil. That year changed my life and lead me to study abroad another semester in Florianópolis Brazil and earn a minor in Portuguese. As an advanced speaker of Portuguese being in Lisbon is a dream come true to be living my day to day life in the Portuguese language. Another piece to the melting pot

Studying abroad seemed like the perfect opportunity to do this. I must admit, before coming to Portugal, if someone asked me where Lisbon was I would have had no clue. This however actually gives great insight as to why I chose Portugal as my study abroad destination. Happy coincidence

I started learning Portuguese by accident. I spent the majority of my life learning Spanish as a second language. Although my dad is from Peru, I never spoke Spanish with him growing up. I think this is how my love of languages arose. Frustrated that I never learned the language of my dad’s family, in school I dedicated myself to learning Spanish and to sounding as “Peruvian” as possible. Now, two and a half years later, I am a Spanish and Portuguese major studying abroad in Lisbon, Portugal. I never imagined that I would learn to speak Portuguese as quickly as I have, or that I would come to love the Portuguese-speaking world as much as I loved learning Spanish.
